New figures released today show that there are 30 new cases of coronavirus in Devon.

The new numbers show 19 new cases in the Devon local authority area, along with seven in Torbay and four in Plymouth.

There are now 256 active cases in Devon.

There are also 15 new cases in Cornwall, bringing the total number up to 114.

The figures – supplied by Public Health England – come on a day when it was also confirmed that two more people infected with coronavirus have died in Devon.

One fatality was reported yesterday at the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, while the other occurred at the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

It was the 11th fatality recorded in Torbay and the seventh in Plymouth.

It brought the total number of people to have died in Devon with COVID-19 to 25.
